What is Indie Fashion, anyway?
OK, obviously "Indie" means "independent," but it means much more than that, doesn't it?
Obvious too is that its sister concept is DIY, which is the philosophy of creating your own look, by hook or crook or needle and thread.
So yes, this could mean sitting down with a sewing machine and pounding out your own stuff, whether from scratch or by re-working clothes you found, borrowed (or stole ... nooooes!!) or got really, really sick of.
It can also mean buying from smaller, independent designers, such as you might find at the Pool Tradeshow, or at a real indie fashion clothing store.
But it could also mean combining things bought anywhere in new, inventive ways only YOU can. 1 2 3
The point is this: Now, more than ever, fashion is YOU.
